Meetings

Our society is a lively community and our international conferences are the heart of our activities. An international ISMET conference is held every three years, alternating with five regional ISMET conferences in between. ISMET members receive discounted rates at all our conferences!

Code of conduct

ISMET is dedicated to creating an inclusive atmosphere among our members. Therefore, we have established a code of conduct, to which we request our members and conference attendees abide.

CO₂ neutral conferences: We are growing our own forest!

ISMET wants to act responsible and sustainable and therefore offsets CO₂ emissions caused by conference attendance of its members by planting a forest in Alcalá de Henares, Spain.

This project was started for the 2014 EU-ISMET where 70 holm oaks and ash trees were planted to make the meeting with ~200 participants a CO₂ neutral event. The ISMET Board decided to make this a permanent activity for ISMET conferences and financially supports the planting of trees at the Botanical Garden of Alcalá de Henares, Spain to offset the carbon foot print of the attendance of all future ISMET meetings. Our forest is growing…
